Painting #7 Lemons

"Two Lemons on a French Cloth," 8" x 6"
Lavinia and I had our opening today and were so happy to see people who came out despite the snow.  I skidded a bit on the way home and was happy to get home and paint this picture.

Painting #4 Ken's Beach Shed

"Ken's Beach Shed, Block Island."

Another's plein aire painting from September but I never had finished the shed.

Painting #3 Boat

Okay, maybe you remember this from last September. However, you might've had the same reaction as the guy driving past while I was out painting it, who shouted "Where's the mast!?" Well, whoever you are, Here it is!
"Boat on Trim's Pond, Block Island," 11" x 14."

"Oregon Coast in the Summer"

We were at a wedding of the daughter of our dear friend. Suddenly this once little girl was marrying her love in the most meaningful place of their lives, and the day was a little cold but gorgeous.

"On the River"

I did this awhile ago but had to fix the kayaker's hat. We were biking across a bridge around sunset and I was able to quickly snap a picture of this guy with duckweed and the train station in the background.

"Whispering Pine Half-Dozen," 8" x 6."
I believe there's actually an 'Easter egg chicken' that lays these colors!

View from Brook Street

As I was driving down Brook Street towards the Hudson, I was drawn to the glow of sunlight in front of the distant river.

Swan, October 9, 2016

 "Swan in Lake." 6" x 6."
This is a beautiful swan I found in morguefiles.com. I had hoped to do it justice and think he turned out rather majestically. What lovely creatures these are!

September 29 Asian Pears

"Asian Pears II," 7" x 5"
I painted this once before but my dear friend Merrill wasn't crazy about it,
so I'm giving it another try!

September 26 Coffee Cup

"Antique Coffee Cup," 8" x 6"
This was a funny little cup I bought in a cute antique store. It had strange
fan / flower designs. When I'm painting blue designs on delft, I always think of the artists unknown to me who designed and painted these.

Day 13 Yellow House

I decided to finish a painting I had started awhile ago. This is a cute house in a cozy section of my town. "Yellow House on the Corner." 10" x 8"

"House on the Coast," 12" x 9"
This house looked starkly beautiful against the sea. What a view!

My second painting in the 30 day challenge. 'White House on Grand.'

Saturday, September 3, 2016

"Tree in Field," my first post for 30 Paintings in 30 days, September 2016. Thank you Leslie Saeta! I get to go on a painting trip with Andrew Lattimore on Block Island, RI in two days except...it involves a one-hour ferry ride which might be cancelled thanks to Hurricane Hermine! We'll see what happens. Yes, I get seasick.
