“Motif Number One”

There is actually this little shed that has been painted by so many people that it is considered the Number 1 painting motif in the United States. It is in Rockport Massachusetts, and there is a Wikipedia article about it, just google the title! This is an older painting but it needed work.

We were in Mexico a year ago, and the sun was so bright and beautiful. I took pictures of many shells that were in the collection of our Airbnb hosts. I didn’t want to go crazy and paint one of those spiny ones...oh the detail! But I think that might be my next one. Negative shapes galore!
