I’ve always been attracted to foggy days, but don’t often take one on as a painting.

On Martha’s Vineyard I saw the most wonderful artist named Kara Taylor, who painted huge surrealistic pieces but also some small, dreamy landscapes. In these small pieces she used encaustic to the most wonderful effect, which I may someday try!

We were riding our bikes in absolutely picturesque rural England. 

The view was often so perfect, it looked make believe! Thanks to my brother in law Rick,

 we were up and out by 8 - I rarely swing that on my own.

This is a study - a larger version is in the future.

over still water to a distant Oregon landscape!

So, another small painting. I struggled with the foreground, scraping it out three times!

In desperation I borrowed a gorgeous field from another gorgeous painting, this by Roy Connelly.

I learned so much in this process. Not totally original, but I had a blast!
